Got back chi and eng papers today. chi: c5. eng: b3.
conclusion: go poly.
haiz...
i got 33/70 for zuo4 wen2... the marker actually gave me 36 then changed to 33... the highest in the whole level is 58/70, which is rather low coz i think there are ppl who shld be able to get higher.
for yin4 yong4 wen2, my content was 6.5/8 and my lang was 7/12... haiz... so lousy
i got 66.5/110 for paper 2, the lowest is 66 so i'm second lowest (also for zuo4 wen2 coz lowest is 32)... thankfully for my summary, i got 20/25 which is highest in class so pulled up my marks but i failed horribly for compre, i think its 13/30 so pulled down alot. the teacher so bad, jia3 hao3 xin1 choose an easy passage then the questions set until so difficult, need so much inference
the teachers collated all the scores and showed us mark analysis for every separate component with the highest and lowest score of each class, and the average
so bad, make it so competitive. but its quite informative
thru out the whole paper checking, they were quite funny coz told us alot of the funny mistakes and stuff ppl did in the papers.
for eng our poor class had to sit on the steps...
i got 13/25 for compre... so diu1 lian3 coz the 2 m'sians, huiling and zhenglan, who were sitting around me both got 15/25 and they claim they can score poorly coz they are not good at english.
huilin was exclaiming that xiuxia got 23/25 for summary and was saying she's mad or want to kill her or sth of that sort (i forgot) then when huilin got back hers, she scored 22/25 which is also extremely good then she jing4jing4 liaoz. i think the rest of us kill them hai2 cha4 bu4 duo1 coz i got 19/25 but i won't do such things. i mean how can u be angry with someone or say (of course not truly) tt u want to kill that person just bcoz she did very well? its all her capability!
but i'm quite satisfied with my 19/25 and quite thankul to mdm yick who mked the summary. thanks!
and i only used 133 words while huiling who also got 19/25 used 163 words so zhenglan was a bit ji1 dong4 coz i used so little words but still scored not bad. then she remembered that in sec2, there was also a summary in which i used very little words but scored very well. i was quite surprised that she still remembers and she said she won't forget about it. i thought i had already forgotten but i thought for a while and also remembered that it was the one on fashion trends.
so actually i cld get 3 more content marks if i had utilised the remaining 27 words but i told them that i cldn't find any more points to add liaoz...
for paper 1 part 2, i got 5/5 for content and only 8/15 for lang... only just pass my lang!!! why!!!
then part1, i got 26/40 which is ok for me since i only wrote 1 and a half pages and didn't even finish.
free period now, just took a quiz. yeah, i'm clarinet!
Congratulations: You play the woodwind instrument with the largest range. Isn't that nifty? You are an all around cool person, and you tend not to stress out too much, unless the situation really really merits it. Be careful though, or your habits may make you into a con artist extraordinaire. "Its my reed!" You can't blame everything on the reed, you CLARINET!
my brother's hamsters stink, i can smell them though there's a wall between us...
anyway, i just uploaded my family photos taken on sat! added a link at the top.
today, mdm yick invited kan har ye (hyk21@hotmail.com -> can email her questions), an ex-nanyang girl who is 3 years older than us to talk to us about going to JC, 'o' and 'a' levels and applying for scholarships. she's flying to cambridge tomorrow to study political science, sociology, anthropology and stuff coz she won a scholarship! (so li4 hai4!!!)
she said she stayed in the hostel for 6 months to study for her 'o' levels (so she knew zhenglan). she wanted to go njc coz the ppl who go there come from many different schools like tanjong katong, river valley, anderson etc but hcjc is mainly ny and tchs and rjc is mainly ri and rgs so go njc can learn alot of things coz there are so many different ppl who come from different schools that teach different thing. However, she went hcjc coz her father wanted her to go either hcjc or rjc so she chose hcjc coz she thinks its more warm and rjc ppl are more competitive and tactical and the environment is very different from nanyang so its more difficult to adapt.
she taught us a few tips like if we're the 'visual' kind, draw mindmaps and use colour coding and if we're the 'listening' kind (like tape recorder), read out to ourself.
for effective studying, studying for 35 minutes and take abt a 10 min break to totally relax before studying again coz even if we sit there and study for 2 whole hours and think that we've studied alot, actually its not true or effective at all.
she also said must control ourselves and not watch tv or keep slacking around (oops! this is sort of what i always do and am doing now) or eat junk or oily food and have a balanced diet coz what we do now will have profound impact on what we will do in the future. the 2 weeks before the 'o' levels, we must sleep normally (like at 10pm) and half hour before going to bed (ie 9.30pm), relax our mind by doing light reading (for language) or listen to light music to get into the sleeping mood so that we won't end up sleeping later than usual coz we can't fall asleep. This is to allow our body to tune to the correct sleeping and working hours so that during the exam, our body will work well.
we must also keep ourselves updated to the current affairs to prepare for the general paper coz all the essays are expository ones and it is not something that we can prepare for in the final one month. we have to prepare for it in the long run.
good command of language is very important so read the news and try to do summary once a week to keep in touch with the skill. spend 15-20min to look at essay questions and do the introduction and conclusion. good command of language also allows us to write good essays to express our pt of view and argue well to convince the overseas universities to accept us as their students.
she also said she and her friends met outside to study. she sounded like she had lots of good friends, so lucky.
for the 1st 3 months of JC, cannot slack coz otherwise will die. must do tutorials to ensure that we understand lectures and can keep up. 'a' levels is unlike 'o' levels, it requires 2 full years of hard work.
when choosing a certain field of specialisation (for university), interest is very important coz when we can't take it anymore, its our deep passion for it that will keep us going.
wang lao shi told us there are only 6a1s for chinese prelim from our class so quite a few ppl were rather sad. she also told me my zuo4 wen2 was too short, only 1 and a half pages. usually i wrote 2 pages and it was already too short as the requirement is 2 and a half pages. so that caused me to fail my content and pull down everything...
haiz, i think i really have to go poly since both my languages are so poor...
then mr tan told huiling she is the highest scorer for bio paper2 : 69/80! but she is still always worried and thinks that she will fail her practical and pull everything down.
our class is the only class whose curriculum time lasts till 4pm bcoz of bio but mr tan let us off a bit earlier. he went thru the difficult paper 1 questions and i calculated that i got 29/40 for paper 1. haiz... so lousy.
oh yah, michelle low and cynthia returned me my 'memory book' during recess. boy was i happy to see it! luckily they return me, otherwise i'll have to chase after them for it, haha. very glad to see all the stuff my juniors wrote in there no matter the content, just happy to see it :) but i'll be much happier if they wrote more, haha greedy.
(and quite a few didn't read/ forgot abt my 'instructions', didn't sign at the back)
so i was able to start passing my book around my class! yeah!
on my way to conference rm to have the bio lesson, met jac and yumin at the benches outside hall. they were with their chinese teacher (always with him, don't know why, maybe he too lonely, haha) and ran away to talk to me. told them they didn't sign my bk, said they forgot. they asked abt my results, told them abt my lousy amath a1.
was quite happy to see them coz they always crazily happy, positive influence, also make me happy. they're the kind of ppl i want to meet just once or a few times in a week each lasting perhaps just a minute or a few seconds to brighten up my day like in the past few weeks and perhaps play together sometimes. its great to have such ppl around but can't always, otherwise i won't be able to stand it and will also become too crazy. haha, no lah, but they'll just get bored and stop being so happy.
but everything's gonna come to an end within a maximum of 3mths... and minus all the exam period...... not much left...
hope i will get to meet such pleasant happy ppl when i go to poly or maybe jc. will still miss them coz they're younger so they're more innocent, not so tactical like older ppl (i don't mean lao3 ren2) whom you won't know what they say behind your back...
spelt wrongly, shld be equinox
its on the 70th level of stamford hotel. actually the food there not totally fabulous, only some stuff like sushi and the herb chicken soup quite good. the rest were "okly" gd like popiah (i don't usually eat it though), ice-cream, siew mai etc. but sth gd is the wide range of variety. there were lots of different cakes (like cheesecake which mom said tasted great but i don't like to eat cheesecakes) and there was even laksa, horfun, rojak, pao1, cold noodle, chawanmushi (it was very sweetttt), puddings, etc.
the best thing was the view we get from that high pt, i think can see the whole of the cbd including the esplanade, merlion, padang, the don't-know-what church (it looked awesome from up there), dozens of office buildings etc.
a pity mom didn't bring back the digital camera...
but luckily uncle seng did. he, his wife(aunt siew may), ah siong ah yi, her cute and smart almost 3-yr-old son (sooo cute!) who knows his own ic no, phone no and home add, my grandmother and her two sisters, my mom and dad and brother and of course me went there.
1st time in a very long while that we got to take some family photos.
we ate from 3 to 5pm, then went to marina sq to bowl from 6 to 9+pm. wah, so shuang3, bowled for 3 and a half hours! i played 4 games in all. was lousy, highest score only 88... but i had a couple of strikes! my father had a double strike once but later there were double zeross... haha
initially, me, mom and dad formed the long2 gou1 jia1 zu2 (ah siong ah yi created the name) coz we kept bowling into the 'drain'. but as i played on, my aiming improved as i learnt how to roll the ball.
Yeah!!! Mom just bought me 2 neon rainbow fishes! so fun :) haha
Later i'm going to Equinot! lala
oh ya, yesterday i got back my a maths paper. when i got back paper 1, i was very worried coz i got only 56/80 which is only a2... (added 1mk but still a2...)
then got back paper2 then *relief* coz 68/80. so at least got a1.
but actually still very very very lousy... hai4 our class msg become 1.47 only... if i did better (which i should well be able to), maybe can be like 1.45, haha. but thanks to geniuses like liming and yiyun(full mks for paper1) and laura(79/80 for paper2), and of course sheena (total 98%), our class msg is 2nd in level. haiz, only if we beat 4/8...
eng lesson was so funny, actually mdm yick not bad lah, bring so much laughter to our class. we were told to choose verbs, nouns etc and later given a passage so when we fill our words into the blanks, so funny coz everything was out of point
Erm... why does webshots report to me that there are 6 new views this wk but i don't even know tt there is anyone who visits my webpages since i didn't even tell a single person abt them???
haiz... so sad, don't even know who they are...
how i wish they can just leave a msg somewhere...
hmm... realised a gd pt abt being in nanyang...
there's no lack of talents so can often enjoy gd perfomances, music, etc.
like today, i sat in the canteen and heard ppl playing very nice songs on the piano
*enjoyment* very shuang3
but i regret not learning piano when i was young... (mom had offered me the chance at tt time but i rejected it...)
*yawn...* i just finished creating 3 webpages of class photosss after spending 1 whole evening plus night! i think they look quite nice :) *ego* heehee
*yawn...* i just woke up. yeah, today don't need to go to school. the pure geog ppl should have already finally finished their last paper and are finally able to go out and play. the cycling gang should have already reached west coast and are cycling around liaoz. *yawn...*luckily i didn't agree to go, then can sleep till now. *lazy pig* haha, i know
yeah!!! prelims finally over :) ahhhh, i just returned after playing and shopping for half a day, yao1 suan1 bei4 tong4 liaoz but very shuang3 :)
the math paper 2 was different from the usual type of questions, zhixiu even said she's more confident of getting an a1 for physics that maths. but for me, i think its still maths more probable than physics like what the usual situation is.
i went to jurong superbowl with yuanyi, xiebo, zhixiu and anqi who initially didnt want to go coz she didnt bring enough money but she was finally tempted and persuaded to come along, haha. b4 that we had lunch at kap coz they were too hungry. i was hoping to go somewhere else to eat sth different. nvm.
we very hu2 tu2, boarded 156 though going to kap... haiz, then xiebo complained abt wasting money.
weekdays go bowling very good esp. coz we're students. only $1.90 per bowler per game. i played 3 games. the 1st time i was the lousiest, then the 2nd and 3rd time, i was 1st and 2nd respectively but actually still very lousy, not even 100 points... but still ok considering that its been mths since i last played. anqi very li4 hai4, 1st time playing still topped us for the 1st game and even had a few strikes. she said its beginners luck. zhixiu says its bcoz she's from wushu so aiming is better.
mine is very weird. quite a few times it goes straight until halfway through then it turns and go into the drain... zhixiu very experienced coz she watch alot of sports programmes. she said is bcoz when i let go of the ball, my arm wasnt aiming straight. hmm
i think their brains really got alot of space. they can memorise academic work so well yet when it comes to media news and gossip, they also know so much coz throughout the whole day, they could talk abt a whole range of different gossip topics and stories.
kaiyun just called me and i immediately knew what she wanted to ask and said its bcoz i have telepathy, haha. actually is bcoz she smsed xiebo just now while we were have dessert. they were going cycling at west coast. me not going coz too far. then she say i sound like jingjing. haiz, wendy and charmaine and shu-en said that for a few times liaoz. so i replied that its her who is acting me! then just a few seconds later, linyan msned me to ask oso, haha, they timing so zhu3
ok, shall continue with the bowling part.
when we were getting back our shoes, xiebo went toilet. then we were abt to leave superbowl when zhixiu realised we hadn't paid. then they wondered if we left w/o paying and the superbowl person didnt know but zhixiu clarified that my ezlink card was still with that person. i said i even forgot all abt it... haiz, don't know why so hu2 tu2...
but xiebo even worse, we were outside superbowl liaoz and thought for quite sometime what movie to watch and couldnt decide so we wanted to go to the bus stop first then she suddenly realised she hadn't get back her own shoes yet. hahaha, so comical
then on the bus, zhixiu was trying to be a tour guide and introduce us to the west side of singapore. then they complained that anqi and me kept stoning esp anqi then she explained that she was chen2 si1 ing but yuan yi replied that it was just a nice way of putting it.
at jurong point, we still cldn't decide on a movie to watch coz there nothing worth watching expect pirates of the caribbean which i had already watched. so we shopped around and i bought a stress-relieve apple for mom (she saw mine and wanted one). then they spent alot of time trying to decide on a bdae present for lingyi and finally bought a choker (1st time i learnt the name). then xiebo was feeling guilty bcoz she dragged anqi along but hai4 her so bored so anqi reminded her that we bowled.
but anqi wanted to go home so after a bit more shopping, she left with yuanyi at abt 4pm. i would also have gone home but xiebo wanted to shop some more so i stayed coz i also don't mind. zhixiu also stayed coz she only live nearby. we went to sembwang music shop coz ts which zhixiu wanted to go was closed for renovations. then we looked around for quite some time coz they were deciding on a bdae present for xiebo. she wanted a korean drama series but cldn't decide on one. finally wanted "all in" which was overbudget so she had to chip in herself.
i think yuanyi, zhixiu and xiebo are very fortunate to have one another, coz though they quarrel and make sarcastic remarks, they are still very good friends.
then we went to jennyfer again. i think the clothes there quite nice, shall ask my mom to bring me there to get some. jurong point is such a great place. then we began appreciating the music and mtv being played in the store. all soooo niceee
then we went to the foodcourt to have some dessert coz they were really hungry. i bought chocoberry icecream. all of us agreed the dessert there is very nice. yummy
then anqi smsed xiebo to 'announce' that she had already reached home and i exlcaimed that she was so fast coz she lives at hougang but actually it was already very late: almost 6pm. quite surprised coz we didn't do much.
then on the way to the mrt station, jurong point once again made me feel how great it is coz there was lots of delicious snacks around that i cld buy on my way home after school everyday if only i lived there... *jealous* *envious*
on the train, xiebo and i chatted alot and i found out that her school fees are $350 per month coz she wasn't a sg citizen when she applied for school entry. i was rather shocked by the amount.
we also talked abt yuanyi whose family get free mooncakes and everything like borrowing vcds and computer programs and many others from her parents' colleagues so often though they are not high-ranking professionals. xiebo said it boils down to gao3 hao3 ren2 ji4 guan1 xi1 and how they treat ppl. wah, so li4 hai4! hmm, they have high eq which is much more precious than iq and more rare too. how i wish i can be like them
oh yah, forgot to mention while anqi and yuanyi were abt to leave, we saw ms ong and another male teacher whom i think is a chinese teacher lee li ming but maybe not this name but i'm quite sure he's from our sch but the rest of them didn't notice him. i joked that eng and chi teacher dating, haha. but when we went down 1 level, we saw ms may sun and ms ng seow hwee who wore very trendy 'hot' knee-length black leather boots! Wahhhhh, a weekday school day and they can go jurong point to enjoy! so shuang3
speed 2: cruise control is such an exciting movie, i sort of felt as if i was in the movie itself experiencing what the characters are going through *thumbs up*
just now after phy paper 2, my classmates and i were already beginning to discuss what to do after tomorrow's math paper 2. yeah, its just less than 17hours away :)
phy prelim was so difficult even the top students in my class were worried about passing. (think they should be overworrying coz otherwise the rest of us will get f9s) but it was indeed difficult...
hmm....... so after all i will be going for the band overseas trip coz this morning after chem paper 2, jiayun came to my class and kept on persuading me to go. then wendy and charmaine came by too. so finally i agreed to go. but our section only the 2 of us going... (novella not confirmed yet)
so i'll not be able to go for grad. nite... ah, be positive: i can don't fan2 about what to wear for grad nite.
and anyway, i can still go for class chalet! YEAH :)
but i must practise extremely hard coz minus the days going for chalet, i'll have a maximum of only 13 days left.
guess when i started studying chem
8+pm last night. till 1+am. in between i still answered phone calls, ate supper (fried chicken wings, yum) and watched golden bowl (that guy so shuai4 *smiles*)
which means i only spent about 3-4 hours in all studying for my chem prelim
i am lazy
but anyway we did loads of revision for chem liaoz, so still ok
then this morning i was almost late, had to run to catch the train and when i reached sch, the morning music was already halfway through.
i thought the band improved but charmaine said their playing wasn't good but jiayun said they did improve as compared to beginning of the year.
for chem paper 2, i was still too slow but for paper 1, i managed to force myself to go fast and managed to finish the paper.
here are 8 very cute, interesting short flash movies episodes from minrui. i'm posting here coz once i switch off the computer, all the memory is erased so they won't be stored in my inbox.
My SHITTY brother just did don't-know-what-the-heck to my computer and now everything is in a mess!!! when i log on to windows, it said that they can't find the local profile and whatever i do won't be saved. so now all the shortcuts i had put on my desktop is gone and when i go to my documents, my folders and files are not there. although they are still in the computer, everything is in a GREAT BIG MESS!!!! and all my messages in the outlook express and all my contacts are goneeeee and i can't find them!!!!
so i complained to mom coz yesterday everything was still fine. it was only after my brother had used the computer last night that everything is in a mess and i've tried to restart the computer a few times but they keep showing the singnet install thingy though its already installed (otherwise i won't be able to use the net and post this right!). and my mom said this is very common coz computers are always like that and she told my to take it easy but the problem is my brother did it! its not the computer itself, its my brother and i've already not want him to use the computer since last year but my mom says its the family computer so he can use it!!! but he just does stupid things and mess everything up!!! (ok, i know i've repeated that many times)
and he even visits porn sitess!! yuckS!!! disgusting pervert!!!!
and wenyi called me just now to ask me abt my size for the new band tee. why do they have to have a new band tee? if they didn't have a new band tee, wenyi won't call me and if wenyi didn't call me abt band, i wont start to miss band again...
but never mind, i shall try my best to stop missing band since i'm no longer in band....
shall start using the new template though the webmaster havent replied me yet, anyway i'm acknowledging it so there shouldn't be any problems
arghhhhhhhh........ and chai xin just (a few seconds ago) called me to tell me abt the band overseas trip to thailand... now i'm really missing band again.... but anyway, i told her i won't be going coz i really won't be up to standard. 'o' levels end on 19 nov and the trip is from 6 dec which leaves me only 16 pathetic days to recover my tone after not touching my clarinet for almost 3 months and to practise all the songssss which is definitely tooo little considering that i'm such a lousy player though i'm already a sec4... i want to go but my zi4 zhi1 zhi1 ming2 tells me not to coz if i go, i will only be lan4 yu2 chong1 shu4 which is terrible so i rather not go so as to not hai4 nycb and disgrace the band and myself.
*sighhh....* but i really want to go... coz its the last time i can do so with nycb.....
yeah! i have created a new template for my blog. its really cool! but i havent obtained permission for my backgrd picture which i got from another website... waiting for reply from the webmaster... so cant put it up yet
here's sth really cool (minrui just sent it to me, long time havent seen those old primary sch friends liao):

i love to listen to songs/music :) so shuang3 like now :) ive got a great list of songs i like to listen to, its liang jing ru's feng shou kuai le now. her eng name is fish leong, haha, quite funny.
shall blog from yesterday...
bio paper 1 was very difficult, mrs wong always set questions on those small little details... and i didnt even study those main points not to say the small detailss... for the paper 2, i thought i was going quite fast but the fact was i skipped a lot of questions so during the last half hour i finally realised that i didnt have enough time but it was too late... left at least 1 whole page blank
then i met mom for lunch at the very nice skylight garden, yummy :)
then i went home and fell asleep on the sofa. actually didnt want to sleep too long coz nxt day (which is today) is math paper so have to sleep early at night but i was tooooo tired coz the night before i only slept 3 hours. so i slept on and on and ended up sleeping for about 4 hours i think before getting up in shock coz i couldnt believe it was almost 7pm and thought my clock was spoilt.
today...
math paper was also difficult though its supposed to be easy, at least easier to me as compared to the other papers.
met mom again for lunch coz had to tighten the screw of my specs at novena square, then had jap food, very nice also :)
then came home and tried to search for a new blog template but couldnt find one that i like so decided to make one myself
then frantically proceeded to do my tuition homework before going off for tuition. mich didnt come, wonders what happened, hope she's fine. mr bala told us about his handsome sec4 student in 1995 who had a nervous breakdown during the prelims and kept asking for paper but only repeatedly wrote his name. he went for some treatment before taking his 'o' levels a year later and went to hwa chong then to nus engineering and got a degree. but today his cousin came and told the tchs principal that he had commited suicide yesterday...
how scary life in singapore can be... i could also have commited suicide, but i always dont have the courage to whenever the thought comes to me. and sometimes there are also happy things in life, this explains why i'm still around. that guy had been through so much hardship and stress to gain a degree only to die after he had finally been through it but me and my schoolmates are only halfway through and we are already complaining so much. its really such a pity that he got through the studying 'suffering' but didnt go on far enough to enjoy the fruits.
ok, i shan't end off on a sad note, so i shall talk about the happy things that will happen after 'o' levels. our class chalet is from 25 to 27 nov. many of my classmates are already fantasizing about it :) its at aranda again (we went there in sec 2 and 3 coz all 3 times my mom was the one who book for the class coz her friend works somewhere there) but this time we were not given the first level suite (i received the letter from mom's friend only yesterday).
though its something new (coz we had stayed at 1st level for 2 consecutive times), i'm afraid that it would be rather troublesome on barbecue night coz we cant just step out of our suite into the bbq area like we used to and have to climb up and down the stairs. i remember last year, we were watching amazing race singapore episode and alot of us were watching it while some others did the bbqing and brought in the food and i had dashed out during the advertisement time to join in or watch around the bbq and dash back in to watch tv again so this year we might not be able to do that.
oooo... i am already home... yeah, no second paper today.
the a math paper 2 was quite ok, actually the 'best paper' so far, as in i think its the best i've done so far, but its the most 'sickly' paper, coz my nose was running all the way through and i had used up my tissue so i had to keep using the used tissue... *ick* and towards the end, the tissue was so wet that the mucus dripped down... *yucks!* hope no one saw...
paper 1 on monday was horrible. i didnt even touch the last alernative question (11 marks!!) and i left a few blanks too... i was tooooo slow. for the history paper, the structured essay question i attempted was one i had already prepared for, including the L5 arguments but i cldnt remember plus i was still toooooo slow so didnt have enough time to try to recall and write down ... and the source-based was difficult.
yesterday's chinese...
i spent 1h 10 min on the ying4 yong4 wen2 which is horribly long and left me only 50min for my zuo4 wen2 and added to my slowness, i only wrote 1 and a half pages...
the tian2 kong1 passage was totally rubbish! they put all the blame of the stress and the pressure we students have on the parents and claimed that the parents are the ones who destroy our childhood. what a great big joke. haha
halfway thru, ms lee started sweeping the floor for our class and ended up sneezing and coughing away (coz our class is really dusty regardless of how much sweeping). she was saying that many ppl were already dozing off (the chinese elite ppl) so she wanted to keep them awake but she sort of distracted me so i cldnt finish the paper (left some blanks) but actually i didnt know how to do them and hoped that i cld go back to them after i finish the rest...
invigilating still behave like her usual funny crappy self
i was playing badminton with my mom just now when i noticed that there were some dating pairs around so it seemed like that area was a place where many couples pass by. then as i turned around to pick up the fallen shuttlecock, i saw a teenage couple abt 30m away walking towards my direction. the girl was blocked by a pillar, the guy, i could see, was wearing a turtle necked long sleeved shirt and jeans so it made me think, "simple date (coz in neighbourhood area) oso dress up so well". Then i continued playing. soon, they passed by the badminton court and the girl looked back over her shoulders a few times (i think its bcoz she recognise me too). it was then that i realised she was the basketball captain from sch. i think her name is phyllis. haha, prelim still have date and go boyfriend house

haiz... went to 3 hospitals yesterday... national skin centre, kk hospital and tan tock seng... i am not fully normal and healthy, yet i'm not sick at all... boo... and spent so much time (left home at 7+am, left ttsh at abt 1pm) around tt i didnt study... die...
ok, at least i applied for my 1st atm card, now won't be embarrassed bcoz i don't have enough money anymore.
also went to check out the ss revision guides at popular. they were very ex, $8.90 for redspot one /$9.80 times 2 for longman one. finally didn't buy coz redspot one although it has some gd suggested answers with gd arguments, some were what ms chua said was wrong. longman one has very gd and concise summary of the ss tb content but the problem is its so ex. but everything is from tb. although there are some suggested answers.
today, i went for tuition. thought i was late but ended up the earliest though i was in fact a few minutes late. thought i would be very alert since it was in mid-day but i still cldn't think quickly. haiz...
Yeah!!! i watched Pirates of the Caribbean last night, extremely exciting, quite funny and a bit romantic which is a great combination :) very interesting storyline :) *happy* i got a will turner (orlando bloom) poster, its on my wardrobe now. *giggles* but its so small, smaller than a3.
sun yan zi came to sun plaza today. she was late for almost an hour so my mom was so pissed that she went off, left me alone. i was on 2nd floor, view wasn't good coz 2 selfish guys blocked my view... there was really loads of ppl, from 1st floor all the way to 3rd. didn't buy her cd, didn't get her signature, coz mom was too pissed... sun yan zi's (or her organiser's) fault, not mine. its her loss that she can't sign for me, not mine. *giggles*
i saw geraldine and her 4/8 friend (i know she's council secretary but forgot her name) when i reached sun plaza at abt 12.30pm. then abt 1.30pm, i saw chai xin. tried to figure out who she was talking to so happily away, thought it was her male friend coz she so happy or maybe her classmates. finally found it was jianing. haha, too short, cldn't see her initially. wonders why she wasnt with geraldine, thought they were rather close.
yeah, finally one school holiday when i really don't have to go to school... after 3 years and 8 months... hmm, isn't that also the same period of time when sg fell to jap... geek. and my birthday is the day when sg fell to jap. argh.
yesterday was ss and eng prelim... think i'll have to go poly... but go poly humanities also must pass... so must study my history properly!
actually, all those that i studied for ss (ie eduation, sustained devt, gd governance. yah, that's all i studied) came out, but the PROBLEM (yah, BIG prob) is that i cldn't remember though i only studied so little. i did the sustained devt qn, which is the chapter i studied most, but still cldn't remember how global competition caused the slowdown of sg's economy in 1990s. erm, seems like its linked to another chap, but isn't that jap... haiz......
another BIG PROBLEM is that i think too slowly, by the time i finished the source-based qn, there was only 35 mins left for the structured qn. i MUST BE FASTER! but when i do things on my own, i always take my own sweet time, and there's no time for that in EXAMS!!!
yah, no time yet i still fell asleep during eng paper 2! ended up leaving abt 5 mks blank! ARGH!!! and my summary only had abt 133 words!
back to wednesday...
played basketball during pe, haven't played for a very long time (since term 2). i like playing group games with my class ppl though as usual, i didn't really get to touch the ball much.
i like it when the ball is with the rival team, then i can hop around and block ppl so that the person with the ball can't pass to them. haha. but when the ball is with my team, i will just stand around coz i don't want to get the ball passed to me coz most of the time, i can't catch the ball.
thursday...
had ss extra lesson till 3.15pm. thought i was already late for the mooncake collection but the truck only came at 4pm. so inefficient! the ppl whose lessons ended at 2.05 had to wait 2 over hours which is ridiculous especially for the sec4s whose prelims start tml. then they spent alot of time unloading the mooncakessss. there were really alot ! heard that yasi alone sold 54 boxes! cool!
argh!!!!! my nose is very itchy now! so itchyYY!!! and its running. i mean i have a runny nose.
ms chong was talking to shu-en sth abt reeds (later shu-en told me ms chong said they found 20 over reeds that looked very new in jianing's clarinet case) then mom and her colleague, uncle bong reached sch at abt 4+ pm but i told her have to wait coz have to take turns (section by section). but thankfully, ms chong saw mom and told me since parents here, can take first, don't want to let them wait. (haha, thanks, ms chong!) then she helped me tell ms jasmine tan. so i had to go up to band rm to get my order form and get the specific mooncakes from the boxes lying all around. so i ended up perspiring all over.
then after that i followed mom to her office. halfway, uncle bong dropped us at whampoa food centre to get my dinner. the chicken wing was very delicious :). at the office, some of mom's long-time colleagues who knew me since i was young started teasing me. uncle fu said he thought i made the mooncakes so he agreed to buy. he and cindy auntie were really helpful, aided mom in giving out the mooncakes.
i tried to study ss for abt an hour b4 going home. i was really very tired such that i nearly cried while complaining to mom. then had to help class by merci chocolates for linyan, weilin and yuh shin (coz they took time off to do the grad mag instead of studying). the grad mag was really very nice!!! so by the time i reached home, it was already 9.10 pm...
SUN YAN ZI IS COMING TO SUN PLAZA!!! WOOHOO!!! not that i am her fan but she's the "national icon" and since she's coming, i can go watch her and listen to her sing. yeah! haha
hope i can get her signature. hope. gonna buy her cd, never really bought anyone's cd before... anyway mom's buying, i think... lala
well, prelims in 2.5 days... and i haven't started studying ss yet...

Other Recommended Readings by Marc
The Origin of Species by Charles Darwin – Few books have had as significant an impact on the way society views the natural world and the genesis of humankind.
The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell – Gladwell looks at how a small idea, or product concept, can spread like a virus and spark global sociological changes. Specifically, he analyzes “the levels at which the momentum for change becomes unstoppable.”
David Copperfield by Charles Dickens – This is a tale that lingers on the topic of attaining and maintaining a disciplined heart as it relates to one’s emotional and moral life. Dickens states that we must learn to go against “the first mistaken impulse of the undisciplined heart.”
Lolita – This is the kind of book that blows your mind wide open to conflicting feelings of life, love and corruption… and at times makes you deeply question your own perceptions of each. The story is as devious as it is beautiful.
Getting Things Done by David Allen – The quintessential guide to organizing your life and getting things done. Nuff said.
How To Cook Everything by Mark Bittman – 900 pages of simple instructions on how to cook everything you could ever dream of eating. Pretty much the greatest cookbook ever written. Get through a few recipes each week, and you’ll be a master chef by the time you’re 30.
Honeymoon with My Brother by Franz Wisner – Franz Wisner had it all… a great job and a beautiful fiancée. Life was good. But then his fiancée dumped him days before their wedding, and his boss basically fired him. So he dragged his younger brother to Costa Rica for his already-scheduled honeymoon and they never turned back… around the world they went for two full years. This is a fun, heartfelt adventure story about life, relationships, and self discovery.
Self-note: Tip for my future business =D
give employees reasonably high pay to keep them- otherwise they are unlikely to stay loyal.
treat employees not according to how well they treat me but how conscientious they are at work
(of course, musn't expect them to only do work throughout the entire working hours -
give some breathing space too, we are humans, not machines) Movies watched(listing started on 6jan08)

11Jan08: "Le Grand Chef" w WLing, JT & Irene (good! funny, very touching, :) nice; watch if like humour+meaning+food)

21Nov09: "Gokusen" w Mf, Eva, Tony, Sarah (funny inspirational movie)

30Dec09: "Sherlock Holmes" w Irene, Tony, Sweetee (my favourite genre of books made into a movie - what else can be more cool? acting effects humour excitement suspense all in)
12Jan10: "Avatar 3D" w Mom (didn't appreciate the digital effects which everyone wowed about. content etc was so-so. cathay's 3D glasses were too heavy for me)
8Feb10: "The Truman Show" w Ky n sis n Yuhshin (a must-watch. very thought-provoking, funny. reminder to be spontaneous and create your life the way you want, instead of falling into a typical routine
14Feb10: "New York, I Love You" w Mom (I loved it! a good couple movie with meaningful pointers to keep it going. but i think some stories could be more developed)
16Feb10: rewatched "The Pianist" (still find it good, tho i still feel first viewings are the best)
17Feb10: "Valentine's Day" w CHL n WB (laughed throughout - a feel-good movie; liked the fact that the various stories binded tog so well with the little surprises here and there, vs NY ILU in which each story was separate)
20Feb10: "赤壁二" w Addy, Karen, Sharon, SJ (should have watched the first one first cos i ended up not knowing who's who and what's happening and had to keep asking :/ and couldn't pay attn.. if not i think it should be a pretty good movie..)
4Mar10: "Alice in Wonderland 3D" w Mf (i found the 3D effects of this @ CCK Shaw SO much better than Avatar @ The Cathay =/ and the movie was much more enjoyable too! - cheered a sad me up :)) favourite quote - the Mad Hatter: “You used to be much muchier before. ... You have lost your muchness.”)
18Mar10: "Nodame Cantabile" w Irene, Mf (i thoroughly enjoyed some of the orchestra pieces - SO impressive! the expressions of the actors were really amusing :D)

Inception
Letters to God (very simple Christian movie)
22Nov10: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" w Ame, Irene (they loved it. pretty good, i guess the main problem i had was that im not familiar with HP :X)
13Dec10: "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" w Sj (not bad, could follow the story unlike HP. like the meaningful teachings, too long - in a post)
2Mar11: "The King's Speech" w Ame (hilarious, inspirational, tho it doesn't impress me that much to understand why it's the Oscar winner)
Mar11: "10 Things I Hate About You" very funny. silly sweet high school romance. just right for having breaks in between doing homework
23May11: "Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides" w Wb Yl Ame Pg (pretty good - scenery, freakish parts, fighting scenes, dressing, humour, bits of Christianity like when the Spanish said "only God gives life")
6Jun11: "Xmen First Class" w Wb Ame Pg (i was very keen on watching it and it was really good! intellectual, makes sense, cool action, some humour)
9Jun11: "Legally Blonde 2" w Irene (seems like some dumb blonde movie but kind of meaningful too - speaking up for yourself and what you stand for)
17Jun11: "Something Borrowed" w Sandy Lisa (quite funny, somewhat meaningful wrt friendships. they didn't like the lack of sense for one part tho)
16Jul11: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" w Irene, Sweetee, Kw (not bad. i didn't understand some parts again but the humour and effects were pretty good)
Aug11 "Horrible Bosses" w Ma (she fell asleep! gosh. the movie was very crude i must say but there was the humour)
25Oct11: "The Three Musketeers" w H (i would rate it 3.5 for humour/intellectual language and 4 for action. it's by the same producer or director as Sherlock! but a bit less awesome albeit a good chill out movie)
5Nov11: "Real Steel" w Hl (action packed but not too hardcore for me. i liked that there was the father and son element and how the father eventually softened his heart and especially the part when charlie was having trouble telling max sth and max was so understanding saying "Don't worry. Your secret's safe with me." touching and demonstrates true fighting spirit)
12Dec11: "50/50" w L (adopting her words - a heavy topic put across in a lighthearted way, but not taking away d meaning. most of it was rather hollywood-ish trashiness but there were a couple of punch lines "u can't change ur parents, but u can change d way u respond to them.")
25Dec11: "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" w KY (ultimate action packed! super tense almost throughout the movie, and interesting Tom Cruise made it such that not everything happened smoothly - he would jump and misland and get all sorts of injuries..it's really the courage to jump without hesitation even though you are not sure you'll be alive after that. KY loved d movie and said she would watch it again!)
3Jan12: "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" w KY (i love mystery (: and the witty sarcastic dialogues. good level of excitement with the action. didn't understand some parts as usual. i like Holmes and Watson they depict such a true pair of buddies ;D)
23Jan12: "You are the Apple of My Eye" w mom (now i understand why guys like this movie so much - the anxiety of chasing after a girl and the acts schoolboys do to get the girl's attention and hopefully affection. the initial fluttering and the subsequent quarrelling)
22Mar12: "The Iron Lady" w KY (really love Thatcher's sharp words. inspiring and thought-provoking, tho i was still left uncertain of what to do with my life, the movie is definitely an encouraging one)
29Mar12: "Barney's Version" w SJ (a funny movie of a screwed up life of a man who had 3 wives, smoked and drank but very heartwarming at the same time, the relationships with the dad and the 3th wife - quotable quotes!)
27Apr12: "The Hunger Games" w Mom
4May12" "Avengers" w MF n PS (funny, action-packed)
7Jul12: "The Amazing Spiderman"
21Jul12: "The Dark Knight Rises" (fantastic depth, loved the twists)
