just now..
i thought i lost my chem data booklet and freaked out. search thru everything (piles of paper on table, jc stuff shelve, study rm, bag etc) twice thoroughly but couldnt find it. decided to calm down and look. there it was standing on my table between my pen holders. then i remembered i had left it there to make it easily seen so that i dont have to search for it when the time comes.
stupid..
had general paper today. didnt finish both papers as usual. just hope i can pass.
i m gg msia tmr!
but i m not all that happy.. in fact i m super scared. coz 2wks of hols have passed and i have only started on 1 out of 6 subjects... minus the holiday trip, i will have less than 10 days left.
how to enjoy my 1st holiday in 4 and a half years.. sigh......
but i have to or there's no pt in gg.. is it a wrong choice? i hate this

hmm, nowadays i always get sleepy n fall asleep no matter how much i have slept.
went to this chi restaurant yest (it was pouring heavily). grandma did come along! ate peking duck for the 1st time i think. n my tummy's getting really rounded nowadays.
today went nus to carry chairs. so heavy. n got scratch marks on my arms n rust stains on my clothes..
nus macs sells at a relatively lower price!
then had to wait 2hrs for a briefing..
was wondering wonder to blog abt band camp or not. coz i wld take up alot of time again. but..
k, here goes.
5 jun, sat.
was already super tired since i woke up in the morn. n the more i though abt hvg a whole day of activities with only a few hours of sleep b4 that, the less enthusiastic i was. so i didnt enjoy the camp as much as i shld hv. n had to go nus for stupid pre u sem cip briefg. had to bring a pail to sch to hold water bombs, but since i had to go nus, i got junhao to take it there instead. thanks.
made my way to nus. i can go ard on my own. heex. okay, that's nothing great.. wasted alot of time waiting. there was cheryl. n i bet i nearly turned her into stone as well. n there was a shockg findg, that she actually dares to pick up cockcroaches n such. whoa. then my part of the briefing ended at abt 9+ but i had to wait for jiayun till 11+. n i had just fallen asleep by then.
when we finally got back to sch, we had already missed pt (heard they ran outside the sch and played floorball n soccer). guess i wld really hv been in a much more appropriate mood for the camp if i had went from the start. nvm.
mr ho was takg the band, playg 'amazonia'. n boy, i totally cldnt play it. haix. then we had lunch followed by games planned by a few of the yr1s including me.. some ppl had to practise with the alumni band for alumni dinner (quite a pity they didnt get to play), so there was lack of ppl to play the games (the 6 grps had to be merged into 3), and lack of game masters as well. i was the only one for my station, 'pass the action' in lt3. though they didnt abide by the rules of the game, i was glad to see them laughg since that's the objective. then i had to spend half the time waiting for the nxt grp to report. luckily there was an old piano. tried playing abit though i m piano illiterate. n accidentally breathed in some old stinky air from the piano..
finally i followed the last grp to the grandstand where the guys had to eat chocolate placed on the girls' hand/arm/shoulder. n we took some naughty photos (due to the angle). heex.
then the other 2 grps joined us to play the finale game, burst the balloon, which was soon transformed into the water bombs war to bring the fun to a climax. i was observing from the side again, this time with crystal and sharon who was takg photos. it was quite funny watchg every1 rushg for water bombs n getting wet. i think marcus got the most bombs, though every1 got almost thoroughly wet as well. i cld hv gotten off totally dry if not for sean bursting a bomb on my back. finally we cleared the netball court of all the burst bombs n took a couple of grp photos.
next was music quiz, which was quite boring expect for the silly answers ppl gave on purpose, n ppl kept fighting (shouting) to answer though they didnt know the right ans. haobo actually surfed the net n memorised some answers. wow. marcus n cleopas, the 2 most musically knowledgable ppl in band were in the same grp. cleopas was the quiet one, n marcus kept giving answers in the serious manner, even wrong ones. hmm, the snrs can get really funny when they are not doing proper stuff. sth that amazed every1 was that edo got quite a few wild guesses right. they also played songs n we had to guess the names.
i learnt alot of new stuff but had already forgotten everything within seconds. my grp, shostakovich, was the only grp that printed research (by qisheng n junhao) but we didnt make gd use of it. mendelssohn, with u-know-who-s, won in the end.
we were behind schedule so the games planned for the empty time-slot were scraped n we had dinner (catered food) followed by the most exciting game of the day. exco games.
we waited for quite awhile outside the bandrm while the exco prepared. then we had to blindfold ourselves n i though they wld b leading us on an obstacle course (which we what happened during sec2 camp). but they only led us into the band rm to sit in a circle n gave us lightsticks b4 we took off the blindfold. all the lights were off expect for 2 which had paper pasted over to create a dimming effect. the rm looked quite diff with the chairs cleared n alot of space in the middle. then pk started tellg a story abt eh.. actually i know what the story's abt, didnt catch it.. suppose its abt some girl committing suicide in sch or what. anyway, it was to create the scary atmosphere but ppl kept making loud comments to disperse the fear. then we were broken up into 10 groups, and there were so few ppl ard that there's only daryl, thomas n me in my grp.
each grp was given a sch map and 2 card boards and we had to go to the 10 different stations (marked with lightsticks) where there was either a task to do or a paper to collect. there was also an angel cum devil (pk) to give clues (that can be either helpful or disadvantageous) to grp that are stuck and a caretaker (benson), a character from the previously told story, who will be wearing a ghost mask and whom we hv to run away from otherwise we wld have to do forfeit at the end. later, it was found out tt some grps mistook pk for the caretaker n ran away from her too which was rather funny.
it was already dark (8+pm) safe for some pathetic lighting, n we had to move ard the entire sch cpd. my grp's 1st station was at the science blk but we just cldnt find it though we checked thru every lvl at least twice.. n i had to clutch onto my lightstick since it was the only source of light in the dark areas. after half an hr, we ended up at the nvr-been-b4 staircase btw the chem labs n the hallblk leading up, n it was already some other grps 2nd/3rd station. there were pcs of paper marked with the diff grp nos, n we had to search for ours n complete the puzzle. n carry them ard w/o any glue to stick them.. den while we were putting the pcs together at the bottom of the stairs, a grp came n ended up as victims of the naughty guys' scares (they hid at the top of the stairs where it was totally dark n screamed when the grp approached). i didnt even know what they were up to coz thomas was tellg them stuff tt didnt make sense n b4 i realised it, daryl n the other grp had already left them terrified.
ok, i shant go on to describe everything or it will take another few hrs..
basically, most of the frightening stuff were bcoz of grps scaring one another. every1 covered the sch cpd at least a few times. the exco really put in alot of effort preparing for this game (all the make-up n props) n they were really pro, kept themselves in their role
there was this station at tb blk where nicole (with blood red lips, 2 pony tails n all that red costume it was so scary i didnt even look so this is what the others described) was sitting on the ledge at the very end. n her acting skills were really superb. the end where we were at was cordoned off n she kept pointing up in the slow motion manner. so we went up the stairs before gg over to where she was. we tried to distract her but she remained unresponsive. dere was a mirror and white candles and a 'gao' ppl use for praying laid out on a red table den 1 of us (thomas) had to lie on a pillow on a red cloth on the floor. n she chanted some stuff i cldnt catch.. n suddenly alexis jumped out. actually i already saw her when we 1st saw nicole, otherwise i bet i wld b really freaked out.
at another station at tc blk staircase, they had huge black cloth as door curtains with 'qing wu jin ru' painted. we didnt dare to enter since there was definitely sth scary behind. it was rhoda, acting as jiang1 shi1 n shuhui who had to be on her fours n her hair was coverg her face n tried to grab ppl's leg. n rhoda even tried to jump at me to scare me.
we also had to go behind the tc blk to the banana tree n do banana dance to swee yean..
for the station at the parade sqr, we had to record our singing of inilah (the guys didnt noe the lyrics so i had to sing in my monotone voice..)
den we were gg up the stairs near the office when weixian said benson was behind us in a casual way it seemed like it wasnt true but when i turned ard n saw the ghost mask, i screamed (which is very rare) n the 3 of us started runng.
one station was in the lt5 female toilet so the guys oso went in. oh ya, at some part i went into a male toilet too, but i cant rmb when. oh, i know, it was when we needed light to look at the map so we went into the male toilet near the backstage of the hall.
most of the stations were very difficult to find, like the one at the art blk which was behind the wall in the staircase, but luckily the grps helped one another.
hmm, so i basically did describe most of the stations. n i really have to credit the exco for coming up with everything. what tremendous lot of effort.
actually, i was much more scared abt the surprise stuff (of the dark, n when benson suddenly appeared) then those that are already there (all the props n stuff) though the latter did freak alot of ppl out.
the guys were very nice to girls in their own grp but scared the hell out of the other grps.
thomas n daryl were always in front n doing all the tasks while i kept a few steps behind.
when we completed all the stations, we had to report to the rooftop above the hall facing the field. many of us didnt know that place existed. n we could see the big beautiful orange moon. how i wish i had my camera. but the snrs said the place is out-of-bounds coz some silly couple made out there n ppl from singtel building saw n call the sch...
anyway, our grp was 6th n by the time all the grps reported, it was already 10+. overschedule by an hour. oh ya, thru out the nite, mr chin was walkg ard alone. that's very responsible of him to lookout for our safety.
ok, so tt's another few hrs on this time-wasting blogging. bah.
hmm, y doesnt grandma wanna go hv lunch with us tmr at this whatever restaurant. she said it's a waste of time. *knits my brows*
hmm, n yest, went nus again. had to look out for cars. its a totally silly thing but all for the sake of cip hrs.. sigh, what's becoming of the society. though its like sth different, as in i got to observe cars, n car plate nos... saw this really old-fashioned cars w/o doors. n slpt half my day off back at hm..
oh ya, ppl start mistakg me for being a malay again! it's like so long since that last happened. hahaz.
just realised a really serious mistake i have been making.
part of a forwarded email:
We are all unique individuals. Don't try to get your friends to conform to your ideals. Support them in pursuing their interests, no matter how weird they seem to you. Everyone has dreams, dreams that are unique to that person only. Support and encourage your friends to follow their dreams. Tell them to "go for it."
i have been trying to make ppl think the same way as i do, the way i think is right, without accepting how they think. that's really bad. hmphz.
hmm, just went ard readg some blogs. ppl whom i dont noe personally. k, i noe tt's like kinda bo liao. actually they r some nj yr 2s. n i felt kinda inspired. i wanna get to noe them! it feels really great readg thoughts tt r truthfully from the heart of young matured ppl. though it makes me kinda ashamed of some of my childish posts. then to think again, childish stuff is part of the life i like, so its ok.
eck. i hv difficulty trying to put my thots into words.
i keep wanting this n that. wanting myself to be like this n that. wanting ppl to be like this n that. wanting everything to..
rvians r really a funny nice bunch of ppl. its like b4 todae i didnt really talk to them at all yet they r so friendly. went westmall after band camp games com meetg wif esther, minghui, sixun n hanjie. yea, had last-min-informed band prac b4 tt (dozg off towards the end as usual). shopped ard 4 games stuff after hvg mos burger. oh no, i'm seriously eating too much. 4 full meals + snickers n biscuits in 1 day. ok, i shall try to stop succumbing to the temptation of food. haiya, but i keep getting hungry leh..
oh ya, surprisingly took same bus as zhinvee in the morn. i took a seat in front of him n i didnt even noe. how totally unobservant. hmm, actually he can talk quite alot. guess i'm the only person who cant. bah.
n when i got to sch, quite a few band peeps had run n dey came at like 8am... whoa. found out it was kinda bu4 yue1 er2 tong2. hmm, must b affected by our craze yest to run.
haiz, another day of hols past. another day closer to common test n i still dont uds alot of stuff. alot of tutorials undone. alot of revision n past yr papers to do. fear.
n i still hvnt watched movies n i'm gg for holiday n dere's pw! argh!!

Other Recommended Readings by Marc
The Origin of Species by Charles Darwin – Few books have had as significant an impact on the way society views the natural world and the genesis of humankind.
The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell – Gladwell looks at how a small idea, or product concept, can spread like a virus and spark global sociological changes. Specifically, he analyzes “the levels at which the momentum for change becomes unstoppable.”
David Copperfield by Charles Dickens – This is a tale that lingers on the topic of attaining and maintaining a disciplined heart as it relates to one’s emotional and moral life. Dickens states that we must learn to go against “the first mistaken impulse of the undisciplined heart.”
Lolita – This is the kind of book that blows your mind wide open to conflicting feelings of life, love and corruption… and at times makes you deeply question your own perceptions of each. The story is as devious as it is beautiful.
Getting Things Done by David Allen – The quintessential guide to organizing your life and getting things done. Nuff said.
How To Cook Everything by Mark Bittman – 900 pages of simple instructions on how to cook everything you could ever dream of eating. Pretty much the greatest cookbook ever written. Get through a few recipes each week, and you’ll be a master chef by the time you’re 30.
Honeymoon with My Brother by Franz Wisner – Franz Wisner had it all… a great job and a beautiful fiancée. Life was good. But then his fiancée dumped him days before their wedding, and his boss basically fired him. So he dragged his younger brother to Costa Rica for his already-scheduled honeymoon and they never turned back… around the world they went for two full years. This is a fun, heartfelt adventure story about life, relationships, and self discovery.
Self-note: Tip for my future business =D
give employees reasonably high pay to keep them- otherwise they are unlikely to stay loyal.
treat employees not according to how well they treat me but how conscientious they are at work
(of course, musn't expect them to only do work throughout the entire working hours -

2Mar11: "The King's Speech" w Ame (hilarious, inspirational, tho it doesn't impress me that much to understand why it's the Oscar winner)

17Jun11: "Something Borrowed" w Sandy Lisa (quite funny, somewhat meaningful wrt friendships. they didn't like the lack of sense for one part tho)
16Jul11: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" w Irene, Sweetee, Kw (not bad. i didn't understand some parts again but the humour and effects were pretty good)
Aug11 "Horrible Bosses" w Ma (she fell asleep! gosh. the movie was very crude i must say but there was the humour)
25Oct11: "The Three Musketeers" w H (i would rate it 3.5 for humour/intellectual language and 4 for action. it's by the same producer or director as Sherlock! but a bit less awesome albeit a good chill out movie)
5Nov11: "Real Steel" w Hl (action packed but not too hardcore for me. i liked that there was the father and son element and how the father eventually softened his heart and especially the part when charlie was having trouble telling max sth and max was so understanding saying "Don't worry. Your secret's safe with me." touching and demonstrates true fighting spirit)
12Dec11: "50/50" w L (adopting her words - a heavy topic put across in a lighthearted way, but not taking away d meaning. most of it was rather hollywood-ish trashiness but there were a couple of punch lines "u can't change ur parents, but u can change d way u respond to them.")
25Dec11: "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" w KY (ultimate action packed! super tense almost throughout the movie, and interesting Tom Cruise made it such that not everything happened smoothly - he would jump and misland and get all sorts of injuries..it's really the courage to jump without hesitation even though you are not sure you'll be alive after that. KY loved d movie and said she would watch it again!)
3Jan12: "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" w KY (i love mystery (: and the witty sarcastic dialogues. good level of excitement with the action. didn't understand some parts as usual. i like Holmes and Watson they depict such a true pair of buddies ;D)
23Jan12: "You are the Apple of My Eye" w mom (now i understand why guys like this movie so much - the anxiety of chasing after a girl and the acts schoolboys do to get the girl's attention and hopefully affection. the initial fluttering and the subsequent quarrelling)
22Mar12: "The Iron Lady" w KY (really love Thatcher's sharp words. inspiring and thought-provoking, tho i was still left uncertain of what to do with my life, the movie is definitely an encouraging one)
29Mar12: "Barney's Version" w SJ (a funny movie of a screwed up life of a man who had 3 wives, smoked and drank but very heartwarming at the same time, the relationships with the dad and the 3th wife - quotable quotes!)

4May12" "Avengers" w MF n PS (funny, action-packed)
